Autodesk Looks Towards Nature for New 3D Printing Materials

Autodesk has certainly made a huge contribution to 3D printing with the invention of AutoCAD, a driving force in digital design. But lately, they are delving deeper, with the advent of Spark and the Ember 3D printer, and beyond. Their concern is materials. How can 3D printing become a process that offers environmentally friendly sustainability? Autodesk has teamed up with the Biomimicry Institute and the Berkeley Center for Green Chemistry at the University of California at Berkeley to find answers regarding materials. The goal is to find safe, recyclable materials that can be used in the production of high quality 3D prints for the long run. They are turning to the perfection of nature for ideas.
