How Materilise Helped Save Two Teen Heart Patients With 3D Printing

Two teens in India with congenital heart disease were initially told by doctors that surgery would be too risky and could not be performed. Then, a pediatric cardiology team in Kochi, at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, decided to use HeartPrint service from Materialise to print models of each patient's heart. These models allowed surgeries to be performed in August 2015. In an interesting twist, one of the two teenage patients is already familiar with 3D printing as his hobby.
