If your stepper motor is not powerful enough... It will miss steps.
stick with 1.75.. ive been on 2.85 for a while and it oozes more then 1.75
Without addressing whether you should or not, as a minimum, you'd of course have to change the diameter parameter in your slicer too. What do you have for an extruder? If it is direct drive without gearing, you're pretty much stuck to 1.75mm filament. 3mm takes more effort to extrude, and gearing is required to obtain it from the typical stepper motor. If your extruder has gearing, you'd still have to make sure the filament path through the extruder can handle the increased diameter. It very well might, but it would be something to check.Quote:
