What to do with a MendelMax 2.0....

I think I got the MM 2.0 in 2013. The 3.0 came out in 2014 but it's an extremely minor revision.

Suffice to say, it's not the best printer for 2020. I have some other printers but more capacity is always good, as I print 2~5 KG of filament per month.

It's fully operational but it runs Marlin 1.0.0. lol!

When I look at it, the J-head, gantry, heated bed, etc. are all well serviceable. What is the general thought on an old unit like this? Toss it?

I'm toying with the idea of swapping a Creality controller and screen onto it. I have a spare J-head but it looks pretty much the same as the 7 year old extruder on the MM, except for the old school resistive heat and sensor. The old resistor is still working fine.

I would appreciate thoughts or advice. Maybe it's time to let go of this old unit.
