New 'Samsonium' Material for 3D Printed Implants Has Been Created

Scientists at Swansea University-UK have developed a groundbreaking new 3D printing material for replacing damaged knee cartilage. Originally meant for applications in space for satellites and orbital applications, researchers discovered Samsonium had a number of qualities--such as tensile strength, a slippery texture, and the ability to absorb impact--that made the nylon-titanium powdered material the perfect candidate for being used in knee implants.
