I have heard different filament colors have different surface smootness. For example; "white one is the smoothest one". But how about other colors. Which one is second and the third most smooth one? Did anybody ask something about this. Do you know about smoothness quality depending on to color? Did you make a comparison?
Theoretically, no. The same filament type, but of different colors, from the same manufacturer should have the same printing properties. But in practice, sometimes different colors will affect printing. Usually there are other issues at play though, ie humidity of the filament. If they are on separate spools, the humidity level of each filament may differ just enough to affect the prints. I have yet to encounter a difference between colors though.
Plus, if you are printing at the ideal temperature for your provider's white filament, that might not be the ideal temperature for their blue, or green, or black.
White looks better. In general the darker the colour, the more you will see every single flaw/layer.
translucent colours look best.
Mainly because light penetrates beyond the surface, so it's not reflected/refracted by any surface blemishes.
