Can 3D printed Chocolate Treats Encourage Exercise?

Ten families in Melbourne, Australia will be given a 3D printer for use in their homes which will print out chocolate “rewards” based on how much they exercise. The study by a team at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology will examine what effect 3D printing chocolate rewards will have on encouraging people to exercise. The researchers say the project is also aimed at finding new ways to present “corporeal data.” As each test subject exercises each day, data will be tracked a chocolate will be printed on an EdiPulse 3D printer. The researchers say lots of exercise means more cheerful and beautiful chocolates, and being sedentary will result in a “sad” chocolate.
