Makrtoolbox Mk1 3D Printer Kit

The General specs for the Mk1 are as follows:

• Build Volume: 6"x6"x6" (150mmx150mmx150mm)
• Resolution: <50 microns (0.05mm) X/Y & 100 microns (0.1mm) Z
• Nozzle Size: 0.3mm or 0.4mm
• Hot End: J-Head ( easily replaceable, upgradeable)
• Filament Diameter: 1.75mm
• Materials: Tested with PLA and Nylon
• Power: Includes 110v Power adapter. 12v 6amp
• Controller: Ramps 1.4 board (Arduino based)
• Software: G-Code compatible (Using Marlin Firmware) / Free Open
• Source programs like Repetier Host or Pronterface

Hmm, what are the benefits of this over a Printrbot simple?

I feel I am qualified to answer this,
There are several benefits.
There is no fishing line (real belts)
the ramps board is much better than the printrboard (IMO, we went through 4 of them just prototyping), it is more reliable and more expandable. you have the ability to add another stepper if you need (another extruder, maybe) and the stepper drivers are replaceable rather than part of the board.
the build area is a full 6in squared vs 3.75 in squared.
cables are alll custom made to length with ferrule ends on them for ease of assembly.
Jhead is a standard rather than the ubis that is custom.

those are the benifits in my opinion. To be fair though i am the designer so I am partial to my design.
