3D Printing Technology May Transform Insurance Claims Process

When it comes to the 3D printing industry, you really just never know what innovation is around the corner—and often, it’s very unexpected. Now, in a trial process in the UK, it’s been proven that indeed 3D printing can be used to replace the irreplaceable—for insurance claims, that is. In a collaboration between Birmingham City University’s Jewellery Industry Innovation Centre, Cooksongold and The Assay Office Birmingham, claims specialists SBS Insurance Services has successfully replaced a range of bespoke items with 3D printing, allowing for a much better customer experience, and greater affordability for the insurer.
