MIT Researchers Can 3D Print with Solids & Liquids Simultaneously

MIT researchers have made the ultimate discovery in 3D printing as it pertains to robotics. With the use of a Stratasys Objet260 Connex using eight printheads, they are able to do what certainly would have been unthinkable until recently: they are able to print solids and liquids simultaneously. What this means also is that during printing, liquids can even be encased in solids. Potentially, this means great streamlining in the manufacturing of robots—the scientists predict one day you will be able to tell your printer exactly what you want and ultimately your robot will walk right out of the printer—ready to dust your house and pick things up!
