Upcycling my first printer

Hi All,

I'm new to the forum and relatively new to 3D printing.

I currently own and am running a CTC 10 Dual which seems to be doing a pretty good job (all be it, it won't let me update its firmware!).

I also own an older Prusia I3 Pro C replica which I am looking to recycle into a new printer.

The I3 contains a GT2560 Mega board (all be it unbranded) that is running the Marlin firmware. My question is, I'm looking at building a corexy based printer and wanted to use this board. A) Is it viable to recycle this board for use and B) can I / how to I alter the firmware to run sailfish for a CoreXY?
