MakerBot Rep 2 - Circles

I was just "gifted" a Makerbot Replicator 2 from a school building because they were having problems with it not printing circles correctly. All circles come out like ovals cat-eyes. The "short side" is on the Y. I have tried every adjustment that has been suggested all over the interwebs. What could I be missing?

loose belt, bolts or bent frame? In a school it is not hard to imagine a trip from the table top to the floor... good luck!
