A 3D Printed, Bike-driven Air Compressor

Brooks Ruhman is a maker with a wicked sense of the absurd, and his bicycle wheel-driven, 3D printed car tire air compressor is pretty wicked. Ruhman says the parts for the project were fabricated using 3D printing and laser cutting, and according to Ruhman, you can find a whole passel of things to use the compressor for from storing the compressed air in a tank to pumping up a handlebar-mounted water gun. Ruhman did the design and fabrication work for his project at the University of Texas Maker Studio, and he used a Makerbot 3D printer and a Full Spectrum Professional Laser Cutter to output the necessary parts.
