Not everything you read in the forums is true.. LOL
I would say the most important thing I have learned is to orient your prints for stress. I've had prints break so many times along the layer lines, especially when I use ABS. Make sure you know where the stress will be on your final product, and try your best not to have the layer lines in that area.
