For anyone using PET filament, do you think an enclosed printer is needed? And even more, a heated bed?
An enclosed printer is not needed. As with pla a heated bed is not a must but it does always help. I run the bed at 60-70c with pet.
I think it's not needed
PETG does not need an enclosure, it also does not a fan.. Print it slow.. 40mmS or less..
heated bed is pretty much needed for most filoaments. Never buy a printer that doesn't have one :-)
pet and pet-g (two different things) does not need an enclosure.

Pet is not as rigid and tends to stribng more.
Pet is what's primarily used in injection moulding the glycol was added to make it better for 3d printing.
hence pet-g
polyethelene terapthalate-glycol.
Pet-g is much better for 3d printing so these days you don't really see the original pet for sale.
