I have a print thats 19 hrs, I need 100% infill, I was worried about it running that long as I am pretty new to this. Is that okay to run 19hrs or more?

My thought has always been that you need to run it until it's done... ;)
Pretty sure your item won't work if you stop halfway.
Seeing as I doubt you will be there for the entire print, your biggest concern will be a birds nest. If it happens, it happens. Clean up and try again.

I had jobs running for 40 hours and more (on a 55x55x55 cm printer) ...
Never ever used 100% infill ! (30% seems more then enough for most of my "strong" prints)

Great, its just a machine part replacement that I may need to sand or cut some off to make it fit afterwords. so def needs to be solid, I can't get my calipers where its at to get exact measurements.Quote:

Just make sure you have a well calibrated extrusion volume if printing at 100% infill. I would probably print a part that is 10% infill with 10 outlines first for fit. It might take 1/4 the time to do a prototype for fit then adjust your design. Then print a functional part at say 50% infill with 5 outlines.
36 hours was my longest single print so far. Generally, I have confidence in our machines and the filaments we are using and don't mind them running long. On one or two rare occasions, I return to a birds nest but I just chalk that up to the nature of the beast.
I thing the longest was maybe 30 odd hours for a full size T-800 head, but I could have gotten away with much less infill, it was in my green days of printing where I thought everything needed a tonne of infill.
how much infill are you guys generally using for your final parts? and how many outlines?
strongest part I've made to date is 60% infill with makerware.
It's a handle for an electric sweeper and it takes a fair bit of hammer.
I did try variable infill with simplify3d - but the s3d infill just isn't strong enough. Guess I should have gone 100% infill for 3 cm and then back to 30% - but was just easier to bang thr whole thing out at 60% with makerware.
Longest was a mistake. Giant stanford bunny. Took 18 hours at 0.1mm layer and 10% infill. My original intention was to print it hollow at 0.4mm to see how fast I could print a big bunny for airgun target practice.
But when you go fora custom profile in makerware - it resets every setting, and at that point in time - I did not know this :-)
Left the bloody thing running overnight anyway.
Haven't made that mistake again :-)
One thing I will say. If you're using abs and a raft, then don't expect to be able to get the raft off. Because the beds so hot and it's on the print for so long, it pretty much welds the raft to the base of the thing.
I'd print a part with minimal infill first, to get the dimensions right.
It'll take FAR less time and distort less as well. Even if you have to print five of them to get it right it'll still use less plastic than 100% infill.
