I have a Frigidaire Refrigerator with a broken water dispenser lever.
It's a bit complex to be designed (well, it would take a lot of time I think) so I was wondering what the chances are of having it digitized?
Does Office Depot or Staples or any of those type places have a Scanner ?
Do you think the scan would be accurate enough to print a working copy?
I'm curious to see what you consider too complex to design. Post a photo... :)Quote:

scans are fine for figurines and things like that but not mechanical parts. you need an actual 3d model designed in cad.

I went ahead and designed it, finished it, printed it (took 3 revisions) and installed it. It's working in my fridge as we speak :cool:

I'd like to apologize to Aardvark and accept that I did something REALLY stupid here....and failed to see it until Placebo pointed it out.
I could not understand how Aardvark thought I was wrong....until now.
I was getting defensive and honestly forgot I said "too complex" in the title. Was only looking at the body of the message.
Thank you Placebo for showing me exactly where I went wrong. I understand now. I'm feeling old age taking a toll on me.

did anyone else besides me read wards apology post and wonder when he was going to hit with a "YOU GUYS ARE IDIOTS" tagline? Maybe thats where messageboards and the internet has put us in this day and age where a well thought out and sincere apology, is rare, rather than the norm.
