I think it is just a display problem. Have you tried printing it?
Cura makes the bottom transparent when you get further up the model.
I don't own a printer. I wanted to print it at a place that offers printing...
Well they will want to slice it anyway so you don't need to use Cura.
If you are bothered by it not showing then look through the Gcode but I am 100% sure that those layers disappearing is not a problem with the drawing.
Try exporting from Sketchup to OBJ, then run your file through netfabb. Sketchup's exported STL's are not all that good.
I think your base layer might be a little thin, how thick is that base? We know the face is around the right way - but if its only 1 face/vertex it will not print most likely because it is UNDER the threshhold for the resolution you are printing at.
eg. You if you are printing at 0.2mm high and you have a model with a side that is less than 0.2mm thick, it will simply not print and omit it.
All of the sides have 2mm each.Quote:

Unsure as to why your STL's were not right, it was the way they were generated. I just re-generated them as a standard binary ASCII STL.

As I said, Cura does that.
My Cura does it with your model and my Cura does it with my models and they print just fine.
If the company you are planning on using uses Cura then they will not have a problem printing it.
