Sounds like you caught the bug
That could very well be the understatement of the century =P
I had the bug bad once the machine was out of the box. Already drawing up plans to build a 2nd machine. And thanks to thingiverse I'm making me a little CNC machine, and mini drill-press.
By this time the bug is dead to burning heat of addiction.
Cant say the wife is to happy about it...have slept maybe 14hrs or so since the machine got here thursday.
I know what you mean I'm building my 3rd machine and this ones a Kossel. My Other two have been printing all day.
Have thought about a CNC or Laser cutter.
Ok, this leveling bed has become really annoying to maintain leveled. I have to adjust every other print and now some of the screws stripped. Does anyone know what size screws they use and where I can find them?
I think there Hex panhead M3 x the length you need.
Are you using the original build plate setup and prying the prints off?
If so that's why it's getting out of level so quick.
Why I suggest people goto removable glass of Maghold plates.
Then you can remove prints without effecting the level.
Hi everyone, first post here. I am debating between the FlashForge Creator Pro or the QIDI Tech 3D printer. I know they are both clones of the Replicator 2. My primary concern with getting the cheaper Qidi is the support and the fact that they actively discourage/block firmware upgrades. I know FlashForge has quite a positive reputation for their support (even replacing parts, from China, with a quick turnaround). I obviously want to save $300 but I am not sure how much having good support is worth to me. Has anyone had to reach out to Qidi? Were they easy to work with? I know they are both based in China but it seems like FF is very responsive.
I think most of the people here that own Qidi Tech 3D Printers and have had to deal with them will attest that there support is very responsive and fair. From what I've read even better then Flashforge's.
The two printers for all practical purposes are nearly identical. True they have rearranged the fuse bits on the mainboard to make it more difficult to upgrade firmware but it's possible I've done it.The firmware that comes with the latest model is up to date Sailfish.
If you want to save a little more on a new Qidi Tech it can be bought on Ebay for $649.00 shipped and while your there check out Qidi Tech's part prices.
Although it's getting a little long I welcome you to read through this entire thread and see for yourself how Qidi Techs support has done.
I use glass but have never stripped out the leveling screws.
How much do you crank down on the screws to level the plate?
I have between 1/2" to 5/8" of a inch between the bottom of the build plate and the support arms.
Since I've never seen a maghold in person does it add any height in thickness over the stock build plate?
