There were a lot of MakerGeeks winners, so I assume it will take them a little while to get everything taken care of. They have confirmed the receipt of all the winners I sent them though :)
Cool. Thanks for keeping us up to date.
Just received my samples from proto-pasta yesterday. Haven't opened them up to try them out yet but they are in fact here.
- Got both my winning items within a week. They're great contest sponsors!
I am waiting for my Filament, but its coming from the UK I believe so I know it will take a while.
Well done to the lucky winners. Wish I could win a 3D printer. :D
lol me too :-)
Think I'm going to hve to join the knp forum and remind them.
Easier said than done.
Their captcha has apparently expired and without it you can't join the forum.
bugger
right - I finally managed to join the knp forum and post a question about whether they intend to honour their pledge or not.
With luck I'll have a definitive yes or no fairly soon.
Well whoopee !
got a very quick response from the knp people. Yes they intend to send me the printer.
watch this space :-)
Woot woot. Free prints courtesy of CA. :)
Apparently eddie hadn't contacted them - and there's a phone number on the website as well.
eddie's a busy man, I understand :-)
Any word on the Maker Geeks filament winners? It has been almost 2 months with no word.
Address sent, looks like it was all eddies fault ;-)
Printer should be on it way soon :-)
Which means I really do have to clean my workshop up lol

Just past the metal cabinet, under the radio control boat box is a small fridge. I mainly use it for curing hams, bacons, pancetta etc. But it also has beer in it. And it's pretty much the only place the new machine can go.
Though quite what I'm going to do with the boat, filament reels and the large box with the chafing dishes in - I don't know :-)
But it's a pleasant dilemma to have.
Yes a mans office is a reflection of his personality. :)
Oh wow! What a mess!!
Jedi, I'll check with MakerGeeks
If you need some practise beforehand you can do mine, you will need a JCB and a few skips.
Damn, thats exacly my room when i Was in college, founded some cash when i decide to clean up. ;)
what do you mean, that's the tidy end of the workshop :-)
I do have a fresh roll of large bin bags to hand. Think that might help lol
You might want to try one of these

And then one of these

lol well there are upwards of 15 dead pcs in there not to mention a dozen or so laptops, shelf full of dead harddrives (I harvest the rare earth magnets from them) one end has wood for use in hot smoking and oh, 20 odd years of accumulated crap.
I work on the principle that if I've got time to clean up the workshop, I've got time to do something more interesting instead ;-)
nah, I need a skip/dumpster for all the dead pc's and laptops.
Cleared the right hand corner today. That alone was 2 bin bags, 2 crt monitors, a tower chassis and a dead 5 foot pedastal fan.
So I can move the chafing dishes and radio controlled boat off the fridge. Also thinking about making a shelf set from metal case sides and some printed spacers. I've got a lot of case sides around - might as well make them useful :-)
Problem is If I take more than a couple dead pcs to the council dump they start saying: 'it's commercial waste you can't dump it here'.
But they can't tell me where I am supposed to dump it.
Last time we had a clear out. I stacked them outside and mates took a couple with them so they got dumped by lots of different people.
Might have to do that again :-)
You could stop collecting them.
Is it too late to join?
Anyone get their filament from: http://www.formfutura.com/ ?
I am still waiting.
I'd suggest you contact them directly.
Worked for me :-)
So I got a package from Maker Geeks today.
I was told I won some filament and to pick what I wanted from their store. I chose some black Ninjaflex because it was under their PLA tab. I chose some of their bronze PLA as a back-up in case the Ninjaflex didn't count, even though it was under the PLA tab on their site.
What I got was an inconceivably small sample of material that I guess is blue 1.75" PLA judging by the marker writing on the bag. The bag weighs more than the sample and the sample is neither of the materials I asked for.
Is this a separate sample and I still await what I asked for, or did I get nothing that was I was told I would?
I hate to look a gift horse in the mouth, but two months after the contest ends and I get exactly nothing that was promised.
check the prize wording and contact makergeeks directly.
I contated Formfutura directly and they said it was up to 3D Print Board. Well time to give up, I am not playing this back and forth for a roll of filament.
If it were another company I would be suspicious, but Makergeeks are pretty trustworthy all round good folk, if something went wrong it's possibly because they are super busy and it got mixed up.
Try and contact Josh, he is a really top notch guy

i dont wana join the screaming crow with pitch and forks but...... its been a while and i havent recieve my portabee printer, not even an email of any kind so if some can help a little it would be appreciated, thanks.
Update:
I emailed Maker Geeks. I explained the situation as I did above. They emailed me back super fast and explained that I got a package intended for another client. They asked me my choice for the filament and said they would get it out immediately. I was impressed at teh speed with which they replied and offered a solution. If it comes as they said I will post another update.
They have a good reputation, and for now I will say it is earned. :)
It's all very confusing this now. Should we have an update saying who has honoured their end and who has not, name and shame so to speak?
Vendors do this sort of thing for publicity and if they do not honour their end we should know so that we can deliberately avoid dealing with them.
