Yup, changed to ABS and replicated the Cursa settings in ABS as close as I could. Really don't understand it.

It's the fill bottom/top thickness (mm) that control your amount of layer.
1mm would means 10 layers@0.1mm or 5layers@0.2mm or 3layers@0.3mm
.2 or .3 mm layer resolution will result in smoother flatter top layers with less infill.
Thicker strands of plastic will bridge larger gaps. and give better finish.
Why on earth would you want to print a fairly simple model like that at 0.1 mm ?
Also the settings for simplify 3d need to be set by you specific to your printer.
Ignore the presets - hell ignore the presets in ALL slicers.
But as a general rule .2 or .3 (my standard resolution for most things) will give better prints.
Because I was experimenting...
Must admit I hadn't thought of going up to .3mm, will give that a try when I get the printer back together after trying to tidy up the wiring. Understood about the presets. They served as a starting point but many have been tweaked for better performance.
