What was/is the most difficult thing for you to learn/understand about 3D Printing?
The most difficult thing for me to understand about 3D printing is what is the most effective way to slice a part to keep its strength but use less material
-
Slicing, raft, and structure still get me.
-
Learning to use software to create 3D objects has been a challenge and still is to me. I have had no use for this kind of programs since school days in the ninetees...
-
The curing depth calculations for SLS systems.
-
Probably fixing errors in files. Tricky subjects like non manifold geometry, and also the concept of support and overhangs.
I had to send files back and forth to shapeways until their feedback got me both a good model and practical understanding.
-
Triying to design things which do not need support
-
-
Probably the properties of the different materials, such as which would be most appropriate for what projects.
-
different type of 3d printing technology, FFF, FDM, SLA, SLS, etc. which technology is for me.
different machine / model / design for FFF / FDM. what model is for me.
-
Using CAD software to make 3D Models for printing.
