VormVrij is 3D Printing With Clay

Dutch designers Marlieke Wijnakker and Yao van den Heerik have developed a new technique and printer for 3D printing with clay material. VormVrij 3D offers the ability to create large-scale ceramics -- up to almost 3 feet tall! -- using their 3D printer. The company sells their creations on their Etsy shop and their hub at 3D Hubs, and is interested in getting the word out about a more sustainable material that can create long-lasting 3D printed pieces to keep forever. VormVrij, a Dutch company that has been working on 3D printing with clay, has just released their line of LUTUM 3D printers, which they unveiled at the Benelux 3D event RapidPro 2015. VormVrij's Marlieke Wijnakker told 3DPrint.com about the new LUTUM clay printer series, which includes four models, each with slightly different variations. They have dual claystruders, enabling the printing of two colors or two types of clay. Priced from €4655 for the LUTUM Original up to the LUTUM MAX-XL at €5858, these clay 3D printers seem targeted toward the prosumer market. The LUTUM clay printers have dimensions of 1040 x 960 x 1300 mm, with a build volum of 650 x 700 x 700 mm.
