Researchers Use 3D Printed Market to Study Foot Kinematics

Researchers at University Hospitals of Leuven have completed a study meant to improve analysis of foot kinematics. Using a magnet based 3D printed marker wand, they are better able to measure the movements of feet, especially those that are impaired. Their work offers an improvement over previous models, due to the multiple segments used. They see their 3D printed markers as having great potential in the future for in-shoe multi segment foot analysis when shoes have to be taken on and off repeatedly.
