Stanford Professor Develops 3D Printed LudusScope for Kids to Study MicroBiology
Ingmar Riedel-Kruse, an assistant professor of bioengineering at Stanford, has developed a great product that allows younger students to get interested in microbiology. The LudusScope is a 3D printed microscope that can be powered by your smartphone for both gaming and learning, centered around learning about living cells—specifically, Euglena. With this fun new product that is easily assembled, students learn about 3D printing, wiring, and electronics as they are studying microbiology. Riedel-Kruse has received seed funding to continue with his work, collaborating with an educational game company. He expects the product to be released for sale some time in over a year. I have been trying to find the STL files for printing but the resource note in the PDF file links to his site at the university but there appear to be no files available.
One reference indicated it they were on the thingivers site but I have not been able to find them there either.
