Animal Planet Documentary Highlights 3D Printed Beak Prosthetic

In preparation for Animal Planet’s upcoming documentary 'Toucan Nation', which is about an injured Costa Rican toucan named Grecia who was saved with a 3D printed beak prosthetic, 3D Systems has dished out the details about how they were able to help the ZOOAVE staff restore the toucan’s beak with their end-to-end 3D printing solutions. After using their Geomagic software suite to prepare a 3D scan of the beak into a printable CAD model, 3D Systems printed the prothetic beak in DuraForm ProX PA plastic material on 3D Systems ProX SLS 500 3D printer.
