Apple Files New Patent Application for 3D Printing Molds

While Apple still remains mysterious about whether or not they will actually ever release their own 3D printer, they continue to show that they are very fond of 3D printing. The company has filed a new patent application for a process that would 3D print molds for the investment casting of electronic components. The process, which would update and refine one of the oldest manufacturing processes still being used, would allow for greater control, plus less cost and material waste.
