UC Researchers Record 3D Printer Sounds, Reverse Engineer Objects
Researchers at the University of California, Irvine have discovered that by recording the sounds a 3D printer makes while it prints, it's possible to reverse engineer the printed object and recreate it elsewhere. The research team believes that this could be a significant intellectual property concern and even a security threat in the future.
