Simplify3D - slowing down the few first layers

How to slow down just the first few layers,
all the layers bright green are printed too fast for such a small model, all the others ok for what I want so I don't want to slow down everything!
but even with slowing down everything the bottom ones stays in green

Under the layer tab what is the 1st layer speed set for? I set mine for 35%.

I have my for 30% so it looks like this is not the problem

yes it is - change it to 10%.

Once the first layer sticks the rest should be fine.
30% is pretty fast for a first layer.

what surface are you printing on and with what material ?
(looks at picture).

So you're using a raft, a brim and supports. How in gods name is it not sticking ?????

And you can always just slow down the main printspeed - yeah it takes longer but with all that crap anyway, I figure that;s not an issue. Change the main speed to 30mm/s.
It'll take twice as long but it should be slow enough :-)

As curious aardvark said that is to fast. I just gave my 35% as an example. I never use a raft to print anything. For a model like that I would slow it down to 10% for the first layer.

Mine is set to 110% :rolleyes:

for your first layer ?

well if that sticks - why not just print everything at that speed :-)

Strange, I run mine at 50% on glass and hairspray (ABS)

If you set "doDynamicSpeed": True,
then that reduces the feedrate on tight curves for better surface quality.
When DynamicSpeed is set to true, the slicer will slow down the feed-rate
determined by angle and length of curves.

(there are several other Dynamic commands that can be changed to improve quality also)

Note: Makerbot-2.4 is only slicer I've tried that with and it Does work

Thanks, changed mine to 10% and it looks OK
print is in ABS on GLASS and hairspray
I am using raft and all the other stuff because the whole model is only 15mm tall so this is the only option to keep it in place
I didn't say it is not sticking, the raft on the glass working perfectly but the next layer (first layer of model) has so many very small points they wont stick to the glass directly and I need to actually slow it down to stick it to the raft in the way I want to.
