Microsoft Research Unveiled MobileFusion - 3D Scanning App

Remember when 3D scanning hardware was quite terrible? This was just a few short years ago. Now, that hardware has simply become a smartphone, thanks to research and a new application by Microsoft Research. They have developed an application which uses just the phone's camera, plus its processor to create detailed 3-dimensional scans of virtually any object.
