3D Printed Medical Model Used for Dog Leg Surgery

Ziggy the Border Collie was born with a deformed front left leg. The cannon belongs to the Univ. of Queensland Vet students who were looking for a way to fix the deformity and help Ziggy walk better. They turned to a man named Don McGuinness who had his own 3D printing startup. McGuinness took a 3D scan of the leg which the students had provided him and printed out a medical model for the clinic. The model has helped them better visualize the ailment and eventually cut the dog open and fix it.
