A Fashion Breakthrough -- 3D Printed Bow Ties

From Charlie Chaplin to Pee-wee Herman, from Fred Astaire to Frank Sinatra, and from Bill Nye the Science Guy to Orville Redenbacher, the bow tie is now a fashion statement with wide appeal. Parisians Vanessa Magne and her brother, Cédric "Khan" Magne, the co-founders of a 3D printing company which creates custom and tailor-made 3D printed items “to allow everyone to freely express his personality and creativity by participating in the creation of the items bought,” are counting on the combination of the bow tie and 3D printing to fire a renaissance in men's fashion. Their site, BitsTailor.com, features their bow ties of “avant-garde and unseen shapes thanks to the unlimited possibilities offered by 3D printing.” The BitsTailor team say the bow tie is a timeless symbol of elegance revisited in a futuristic way.
