Annika Emmert and Winter the dolphin - A 3D Printing Story

Annika Emmert and Winter the dolphin, the inspiration behind the Dolphin Tale movies both received groundbreaking, 3D printed prosthetic devices to make their lives more comfortable. The devices came courtesy of Albert Manero and his team at Limbitless Solutions, a volunteer 3D printing prosthetic manufacturing group. Based at the University of Central Florida, the group create custom, 3D printed arms for children. The functioning, 3D printed arms can be built and delivered in around eight weeks - and at a cost of just $350.
