3D Systems Teams with US Airforce to Print Metal Airforce Components

Yesterday it was announced that 3D Systems will be play a major role in a $1.3 million contract with the Air Force Research Laboratory to further integrate 3D printing of metal into the manufacturing techniques used for creating heat exchangers for aircraft. The project, which is being managed by America Makes, could provide 3D Systems with a major opportunity to inch their way into large military contracts of the future. Honeywell will be the ones creating the heat exchangers with 3D Systems' metal printers playing a large role.
