with the micro binder clips i lost about a half inch
Mini binder clips and refined X endstop switch placement gives me just about the full 200mm area on my i3v-8 - I'm maybe at about 198mm unless I scoot back the clips a bit.
Thanks both for the input. I think I am just about ready to make my purchase and this was one of the last remaining questions.
I wonder if this is true of every printer on the market. I remember my old printrbot Simple stated a 4x4x4 build volume, but the reality was it was slightly smaller than that due to a few parts revisions which meant the Y axis lost 4-5mm. On my 10" i3v, using the mini binder clips, I have just over 240mm and that suites me just fine :)
