Using 3D Printing and Projection Mapping to Create Incredible Exhibition

Artists Jenil Buria, Ana Mickovic, and Mike Alger told each other many stories from their lives in order to create the thread for the narrative structure of their project “Intimacy.” These stories directed the selection of imagery and patterns to be projected onto a 3D printed sculpture of a seated couple sharing an intimate and relaxed moment. The team used projection mapping to create an immersive environment for the sculpture and added a soundtrack, including ambient noises and dialog that gives the viewer a sense of peering into a personal moment as an unobserved voyeur.
