Curious about wood materials, anyone got some experience using ?
Are they easy to print, sticks easily etc?
Just though I check out here first before ordering.

I hear they can be a bit 'sticky'.
*groan ......*
According to one of the busisness man I know, he claimed it is easy to print.
Also ColorFabb suggest a heated bed, but is not a must. And they suggest to use kapton or polyamide tape.
YES! been there, done that.
Lesson 1 : Do not buy cheap wood filament. If you see 1kg for $60-$70, dont buy it.
Lesson 2 : There is a reason Laywoo is expensive, it works.
Lesson 3: They all say this is easy to stick this stuff. LIES! lol... the only thing I cant get wood to stick to is blue tape, or masking tape, or paper.
should that be: 'can' get wood to stick to ?Quote:

I've got some laywood - just need to mess with the spool. I've also got some wood-like filament from polymakr that looks and feels like balsa wood. But is actually pla with a foamy structure.
Haven't tried it yet. But the samples at the show were pretty impressive.
err yeah sorry,. typo...
Well good luck, I have officially given up on wooden printing for now. I was mid way through building an endeavour from makerbot, but both the makerbot desktop software is CRAP!! hates the flashforge and wood filament is expensive... its been a nightmare all round. They really are pushing people to buy their machines hard core.
Let me know how you go please, I have to say wood has been the hardest thing to print for me, such a high failure rate.
Someone has tested how well it would stick with 3Dlac?
Email Matt at printedsolid.com, he prints with wood (and other exotics) filament all the time and has great results. I am sure he will you some help. He is our local ColorFabb distributor.
I see 3DPrima.com recommends 0.5mm nozzle for the LayWood. Anyone had clogging issues with the Flashforge? (since it's 0.4mm).
