Argon is the third most common gas in the earth’s atmosphere. Named from a Greek word meaning 'lazy' or ‘inactive’, the gas is nearly impervious to chemical reactions, and that makes it ideal as a shielding gas for welding, electron beam melting and metal sintering. It's properties prevent unwanted burning and oxidation during those processes, now Air Products say they've launched a new website to guide additive manufacturers in the proper selection, supply mode, and purity of industrial gases like Argon.
