3D Re-Printer Concept

What if we could have an all-in-one 3D printer and plastic recycling system, which worked wonderfully and also wasn't an eyesore. It could fit on one's desk and look not much different from what a typical MakerBot Replicator? Seems nice right? You could feed your plastic bottles in and print out whatever you'd like. A Team of Designers have come up with a concept for what they call the 3D Re-Printer. Note that it's only a concept but seems plausible if the user doesn't print and grind plastic at the same time. no reason why it wouldn't work.

But given the sheer plethora of plastics in the home and the total lack of any composition details on them - how would you know you weren't mixing incompatible materials.

I think a filament based printer with a recycling hopper for putting in the waste would make a lot more sense.
Maybe a switchable option between filament printing and recycled parts printing.
