Interesting Qualcomm Patent Related to 3D Printing and The IOT's

The Internet of Things is the focus of the attention from a whole host of companies and forward-thinking individuals, and they're all bent on making sure their devices and software products are prepared for a future where everything is connected to a network. Qualcomm Incorporated has filed a patent application that describes how 3D printing could fit into the IoT and how it might impact interactions from supply chain management to party planning. This is more of the same garbage IP that blocks up the world.
This is effectively trying to patent 3d printing process pipeline. Something breaks, you replace it.
How can this patent pend include items that are not sensor based? That's what we do today.
A sensor tells you something is broken, is barely better than you knowing something is broken.
Might as well patent text messages and emails as well. The device breaks, sends you a message, you instruct printer, make a new one.
