Inductive ABL with Glass bed?

Hello,
I'm considering going to auto bed leveling on my I3v, with an inductive sensor. I have a few questions though;

1-How accurate is the inductive sensor through the glass bed with pieces of foil under it?
2-Will using Blue tape affect the ability for it to detect the foil?
3-Is there a better option than this sensor? I briefly read that a conductive sensor might work? I would like to avoid the mechanical servo method.

I've seen mention of placing metallic tape on top of the glass, since the proximity in which the sensor will function is significantly reduced when using tape (as opposed to using an unheated metallic bed w/ printer's tape..., which is sort of the scenario in which the inductive sensor is most commonly employed). This would reduce print area a bit, but probably not in a significant way.

FWIW..., this is sort of where I'm at..., and I've decided to go with just a firmware upgrade to get manual mesh leveling and skip autoleveling altogether.
