Calibrating extrusion on Ender 3 Pro - First Time
Just got my Ender 3 Pro and I'm trying to calibrate extrusion for the first time. I've clearly made a mistake somewhere along the line so I'll lay out the whole process for troubleshooting.
- Downloaded Pronterface
- Connected over COM3
- Command -> 503
- Returned values M92 X80.00 Y80.00 Z400.00 E93
- Heated up the nozzle to 190 degrees
- Marked 120mm from where the extruder "eats" the filament
- Command G1 E100 F100
- The printer rolled it backwards and I ended up with 222mm of filament from the mark to where the extruder "eats" the filament. (this was the opposite direction of movement I expected but I could easily calculate the distance travelled)
- This means that 102mm of filament was pushed instead of 102
- New E-value calculated
- 100/102 *E200 = E196.08
- Command M92 E196.08
- Command M500
- Command M503
- Returned values M92 X80.00 Y80.00 Z400.00 E196.08
Now the article I read (linked here: https://3dnation504795197.wordpress..../#tempsettings) suggested doing this process a few times for the best results. So because of this, I repeated the test. When I ran it again it extruded 170mm of filament. Far past the desired 100mm. I've clearly messed something up but I'm not sure where.
I'd appreciate your guidance
