After using the usual manual print bed leveling technique (a piece of paper under the printer nozzle), I print a .2mm thick spiral pattern. It quickly shows where the print bed is high or low. It helps a lot.

That looks helpful! It would be helpful to include the source also. If this was done in Open Scad I would be tweaking it to give more information.
