Autodesk's 3D Printable Hockey Puck Challenge

For decades, hockey pucks have pretty much looked the same: a round simple disc shape made of vulcanized rubber. But could there be a better way? Autodesk recently teamed up with Tinkercad and AHL team the Anaheim Ducks to pose just that question to student designers in the "Build a Better Puck" challenge. Autodesk offered a step-by-step lesson in Tinkercad to teach students some of the ins and outs of 3D design and printing to create a puck. They were allowed to alter size, shape, weight, and materials in the contest. After selecting finalist entries, these designs were 3D printed and the Anaheim Ducks took to the ice in a "skill challenge" to test out the designs.
