Makerbot 2X - To buy or not..

Hello.

So i've had Solidoodle 2 for year and a half now, and was kind of happy with it in the beginning.. but now it takes ages to heat the bed.

I want to get my hands on a new one, so I'm looking at the Makerbot Replicator 2X.
Only bad thing is if i buy it here (Norway), i need to pay around $4900 for it, which is kind of a lot. (1 yr makercare included).

That being said, I'm not sure if i should just buy it or wait a lil? Got a feeling that they will announce a new printer now in january \ february, so maybe it's best to wait?

Might buy it directly from makerbot.com instead.

Any thoughts? Makerbot 2X is still one of the top machines for the price range?

I doubt we will see a new printer from Makerbot in the next 2-3 months. I'm guessing something will come out by mid year.

The Replicator 2X is certainly one of the better consumer level printers out there. However, I don't know if it is the best. It really depends on what you are using it for, and your experience level.
