Almost Perpetual Motion - 3D Printed Motor

Posted on his website, LaserHacker, lasersaber shows us how to 3D print and rig a micro amp motor. The printing process is easy enough, and the motor comes out looking very clean. Its bobbins are threaded with copper wire, and the motor is run using a small 10,000 UF electrolytic capacitor, micro-amp meter, and battery. The motor is powered by connecting it to larger pieces of copper and magnesium run through a "carrot cell" -- which is a small piece of carrot with a small piece of copper and a small piece of magnesium ribbon stuck in it. Using this very simple yet impressive arrangement, the motor is able to run for hours generating 1-1.5 micro amps. This would be a fun project for a kid, but not particularly useful aside from a desktop conversation piece.

yea i saw this, and i'm glad the creator didn't claim or try to fool everyone that it is perpetual, instead told us to go have fun with this 'kit'

Looks cool, never did finish the single coil motor I was working on due to technical retardation on my part, so might look at his project and see if I can solve my issues with some 'borrowed' ideas
