Third grade student Paris Ortiz was born without a left hand. Until now, she's simply used her right hand for all necessary dexterous tasks. Lance Tankersley, a member of e-NABLE, heard about Paris' situation from his son, who is in Paris' class in a Georgia elementary school, and decided to do something about it that would benefit Paris and the entire class of students. Tankersley has a Stratasys UPrintSE at his work, and decided to use "Inspired Learning" to get the whole class involved. He 3D printed the parts for a new prosthetic hand and had the class assemble the parts. The project taught the class about 3D printing technology and its applications -- and gifted Paris with her very first prosthetic device, with which she high-fived her classmates for the first time with her left hand.
