Help!! When I press extrude I get reverse and when I press reverse I get extrude

Thanks for taking the time to look at this post.
I have a reprap which i have rebuilt and have used a new greg wade extruder. The previous extruder was one where the gear feed was on the side and it fed the filament via a tube. It never ready worked and chewed up the filament. At least now i have a positive action on the filament, but the Pronto softwaree is working in the wrong direction. Pressing extrude get reverse and pressing reverse gets the extrude action. is this a firmware problem , do I have to rewire the stepper motors. Also my x axis stepper now will only home in the wrong direction away from the optocoupler.

Any suggestions please what to do.

Quick fix, reverse the wires on the stepper motor. In some software, there is a setting to reverse the direction on the stepper motor, nut I usually just flip the connector on the motherboard.

Please make sure your printer is turned off before you do this, or you risk frying the stepper driver.
