voxeljet today announce a new 3D printing process that they call Phenolic-Direct-Binding (PDB), which looks to create better 3D printed sand molds. The process which can increase accuracy and precision as well as print speeds uses a binding process to build of 3D objects, one layer at a time. It also allows for the recyling of silica sand (or other materials), in comparison to other sand printing methods, that do not. The technology will be made available sometime n the middle of 2015.
