Fashion doll maker Joey Versaw, whose artful line of Mary Magpie fashion dolls inspired by 1950s Barbie were an instant hit, has shifted from modeling his figures from Fortin and resin to 3D printing the articulated bodies and then making each unique with hand painting. Now Versaw has come up with a new line of dolls: gay boy dolls in a series he calls, “First Love.” The fashion-forward dolls can be custom-ordered to include a choice in hair and eye color, and a range of clothing options are also available. Basic and deluxe styles are available via Versaw's Etsy shop, where he also continues to sell the popular Mary Magpie dolls.
